Daily Poem

Today we bring you 'If You Can Think'

Can you tell me how to get over this?
I can't. I do not know.
The waves crashed and hit the sand.
They dragged the sand in with it,
As if making it suffer the same consequences.

If by waves you meet a person and their problems,
And the sand being me, then you've got my story.
I could tell you anything about that one kid's problems.
But why me? Why did they take it out on me?

I didn't know what or why, not even the slighted doubt
As to why she didn't like me.
What was the problem? I'm confused? Somebody please:
HELP ME OUT!

So it was as if I walked in the dark alley with death.
I should have known she was a serpent.
I should have known she wanted to cause me pain.
I drove her wild with fury, so somebody should make her tame.

It was few words that broke her atrocity.
Few words that made her tame.
Few words that made her think
A lot better of my name.

So now she's nicer, well she better be.
Though there's no friendship between her and me.
But I still wonder and I think:
Our acquaintance may end in a blink.

The End...

Lunar Eclipse

<img:stuff/DecoCorns_2.png>

There's a man in my village
He says he owns the moon
He stays awake all night
And sleeps until afternoon.

They say the man is crazy
He's such a silly loon
He claims that he can make
Shadows on the moon!
<img:stuff/Leaf-GrnOrYel_MedH.png><img:stuff/Leaf-GrnOrYel.png>

<img:stuff/Leaf-Grn_H.png><img:stuff/Leaf-OrYel.png><img:stuff/Leaf-OrRed_MedH.png>
I couldn't believe it
My mind wouldn't grab it
Until he lifted his hand
And made a little rabbit!

I laughed till I burst
I thought it rather funny
To look up at the moon
And see a shadow bunny.

The lunatic he made
Throughout the eclipse
Ghostly and uncanny things
All with his fingertips.

The moon was insulted
He turned copper dark
For upon his snowy face
The lunatic's shadows larked.
<img:stuff/Leaf-GrnOrYel_MedH.png><img:stuff/Leaf-GrnOrYel.png><img:stuff/Leaf-Grn_H.png>

<img:stuff/Leaf-OrYel.png><img:stuff/Leaf-OrRed_MedH.png>
And there his colour stayed
Perhaps an hour or so
And the lunatic ranted
Until his moon began to glow.

So the man lifted his hands
As the lunar edge reappeared
He made more silhouettes
Until moonset finally neared.

<img:stuff/Leaf-GrnYelOr.png>
And as he sank into the ground
We bade the moon goodbye
And the lunatic went sane
In the twinkling of an eye!

By [Akane Ice]:

...Cody made sure to close the door to the backyard silently, because he knew his father was sleeping. The second he was outside, a fresh wind lifted his hair. He hated it. He hated the smell of pine that the wind brought, because it reminded him of the air freshener he used in his bathroom at the city. He still thought the woods were creepy, but his curiosity was way too big to not at least go a little closer. So without thinking about it, Cody started walking towards the place where he saw the unusual shape. He figured that if it was an animal like a wolf, he would have more to complain to his father.

He found nothing when he got to the spot were he saw the strange shape, nothing except some foot prints leading to the depths of the forest, but those weren't normal footprints of animals or of humans. The footprints were five times Cody's father's feet! Let me tell you, Cody's father's feet were really, really big. Instead of freaking out or getting scared or telling his father, Cody just stood there planning his 'adventure' for tomorrow in his head. Cody was like his mother and wasn't easily scared. In fact he hated not knowing things and wouldn't settle with not knowing those things.

"This place might not be so boring after all..." Cody whispered to himself with a suspicious grin, while he walked back to the house. He knew he had to sleep now because there would be some heavy investigating tomorrow...

A second prompt, by [Katana the Cat]:

As Cody headed off to find out what made the footprints, he heard some strange sounds. He looked to see what was making them, and saw what it was, two squirrels fighting over a surprisingly large acorn. He saw to his left another acorn, of about the same size. So, of course, he showed it to the squirrels, and they fought over the other one, leaving the one they had before behind.

So he carefully moved the old one over to them, and they finally understood. They stopped fighting, each took their own nut, and scampered away. So he went on, following the tracks, and clouds started to gather. As he walked, he noticed it had got a little dimmer. Then something hit his scales, a raindrop. He paused for a second, and then went on. As he did, more began to fall. It was raining.

Cody didn't want to be walking in the rain, so he sat down under an old, oak tree. Some very colorful birds were in the tree, chirping and fluttering, and Cody watched them because he had nothing else to do. After a couple of minutes, the birds noticed Cody and were so scared of the young dragon that they flew away. Cody was very disappointed when they left, but then he found that they had only gone a few meters away, and he could still see them. So he kept watching the birds, and eventually it stopped raining.

Now, we present the featured Daily Poem!

Daily Poem # 63!

<img:stuff/z/5/ET%2520Emotions/dandy.gif> "Shattered Heart" <img:stuff/z/5/ET%2520Emotions/dandy.gif>

So there's this boy,
Who I talked to a few weeks ago,
Now we've known each other a long time,
Just never spoken much before.

So we hooked up,
And it was great,
But after a while
It wasn't the same.

I waited a while,
To see if it would end
And what did I see?
Another girl from the street.

Now I must admit,
I got jealous and mad,
And I must've hated that girl (just a tad)
So I looked around, at a few guys,
And I got one that my guy would despise.

My plan worked, but it wasn't very good,
Because in the end, I realized something:
That my man loved me for all that I was,
And I practically did what I didn't want to do.

I made him go away, and I was too foolish to realize,
That I caused this, and I brought this upon myself..
He broke my heart once, twice, thrice, four times so far.
And I was too foolish to realize.
And I am too foolish to realize

He  will
 break  my heart
And  I  will let him break it
 Time  and  time  again..
